"This site chnlove is a scam. I have been a member for over six months. I was going to make a trip to meet "my lady". After six months of email you would think that you could tell but these guys are good. I bought my ticket but because of my natural suspicion of all things I paid the extra to be able to cancel my flight if necessary. I am one lucky S.O.B. Here it is one week before I should be leaving I find out that "my lady" can't make it! "Maybe some other time" (exact quote)
It's a shame that we can't get to the Chinese embassy and get these guys thrown in jail. They give the entire country a bad name. I intend to write to the embassy for all the good that will do. I suggest instead of posting on blogs that all of us who have been taken, take the time to contact the Chinese embassy from their website. Maybe if they get enough negative feedback and are made to realize what harm these people are doing to China's image, they just might do something.
If we could just get the embassy to respond to us they may just make at least a phone call to these guys, it's better than nothing.
I feel stupid for having fallen for this scam but sometimes you have to take a chance. And these guys are real good.
For those of you even thinking that chnlove is legit forget it. I don't care if you see these women on video, speak to them on the phone, or use email. This site is an out and out scam. You will be taken. No if's, no but's, there is nothing legitimate about this site. Save your money, and unlike me save any thought of true romance.
I thought of going there anyway and going to the agency. I know from a friend that immigrated from China, that you do not go to jail in China as long as you have enough money to bribe the police. It would have done me good to punch someone in the face. At least let them know that sometimes there are consequences for the things you do. Sorry about the length but I had to vent. It sure turned out to be a great Friday the 13th."
