I used the Chnlove site and ended up meeting a woman in person

  • I used the Chnlove site and ended up meeting a woman in person. It was her suggestion that we email each other directly since she felt her English was good enough. It turns out her English was more than good enough eventhough it has been almost 20 years since she had English instruction in school. The agency she signed up with is Guangzhou Xinxin Marriage Introduction Agency. She had to pay for all of the initil translations herself. So the money I was paying for the supposed translation was going into someones' pocket. When I found out I complained to Chnlove and they ended up telling me that they had no control over what the agencies in China did since the lady signed a contract.
I did experience some of the things others describe with some of the other ladies I wrote to. One, who supposedly had an email adress, told me that she had to pay for each email that I sent her even if she used her own email address. So I do not know whether she had email access at her work or whether her email was at the agency. When I heard that excuse I could not understand what she meant. So either she was paying for each email I sent plus what I was paying, or she had to pay regardless of where I sent the email; strange.
I have met two of the ladies I wrote to. One came to the US to visit her mother in CA and I saw her when she took a week and flew to TX to meet me. She did not look like her pictures either, but she kindly sent me more candid pictures before coming to meet me. The candid pictures matched the woman I met at the airport. She also told me she supplied the pictures to the agency she used in Beijing and that the pictures were a few years old.
The second lady I met in China. I arrived in Beijing at 2PM and after an hour of waiting I was beginning to wonder if I would have to find a hotel and do sight seeing on my own. After two hours I really began to wonder if I had been duped. After three hours of wating I was sure I had been duped. The I feel asleep waiting. I woke with a start when I heard someone calling my name and it turned out to be her - just did not quite match the pictures I had seen of her and that she had sent me. It turns out that she and her cousin went to the new terminal and I arrived at the old terminal. The two buildings are 7 km apart. I flew Continental and I guess they are too cheap to have relocated to the new terminal. We spent 11 days together seeing sights in Beijing, Nanjing, Shanghai, and Hongzhou. We had more than a few diiners with her long time friends and with her family. Based upon what I was told, everyone liked me. It also turned out that she was entirely truthful with me with regards to where she worked and what she did. She is a Branch President and is the General Manager of Commercial Loans for the Bank of Nanjing. She had a VIP card for every place we stayed. While in Hongzhou we stayed at the State Guesthouse on West Lake, the Hilton Shanghai while we were in Shanghai, and the Grand Hotel Beijing. All of these places are 5 star hotels. She got a special 50% off rate at the Hilton because she stays there everytime she is in Shanghai. The 50% charge was $1787RMB per night and she did not bat an eye lash. If any of you have met a lady or your particular lady maybe you can post an answer to this question. Do the women always fall in love so readily? The two I have met in person were very sincere when they told me they loved me and they went out of their way to to show it all the time. Having had years of experience with American women, I just was not prepared for the affection and nice treatment I received. After I returned to the USA, I am still trying to figure out if she is for real or whether the other shoe will soon drop, figuratively speaking. Though this last one says she wants to join me in the US, she is not in any rush to do so. Again, after the experiences with American women, I am actually questioning whether I deserve the treatment I was getting. That is a strange thought in itself.

You all are right about the agencies in China keeping the profiles active. The last lady I was talking about has requested her profile be inactivated and removed. It is still listed as active on the Guangzhou agency website though she tells me she has not received any more emails. Based upon this and what some others have reported here it seems that the agencies are the responsible scammers, not necessarily the women. If anything, it seems like they are being scammed in a similar fashion to us. We are paying for the translation services and so are they.
If the Chnlove agency is operaing a scam, being headquartered in Hong Kong makes them very vulberable to the long arm of the law, especially Chinese and Hong Kong law. Fraud is prosecuted very severly in Hong Kong. Anyone interested in setting up a sting?
