JOHN

  • JOHN-If your experience is like most of ours, you will get an email reply if you keep pressing them. Which kinda defeats the purpose. I mean, who wants to be wasting time on a 'lady' who is being told she's gotta keep replying every blue moon just to keep Mr. Customer (YOU) from nagging Cusservice. OR even worse-getting emails from yet another 'translator' who's gonna list all the things she's reviewed from your past messages. ("HI John-I remember when you emailed me on Nov 12, 2008 at 2:32 am in the morning. How are you and the kids? OH-and here's a little photo Chnlove took to convince you I am alive even tho you never asked for it or this 'list' of things I have summarized to show you I kinda know who you are.") Meanwhile, the real 'lady'-if she's even available or exists-is merrily living her life in China without a clue except when they need her to stand in front of a digital cam, or web cam, and wave a cardboard with your name on it.

According to a few of the fellows on the Chnlove Forum, some ended up with 2 or 3 different translators. They say they asked questions when the replies did not make any sense at all, or when they go the 2-line shorties. One guy claims he gave Chnlove (and the agency) h#ll for doing that. He began to accept the fact that another person would be in the middle so he says that he just put up with it and made friends with the translator in an attempt to break free of the Chnlove headlock. LMAO

MICHAEL- Yup, Chnlove IS very clever. You hit the nail on the head. I also agree with you that their time is up, tho. Just as you say-with technology being what it is and ppl able to travel more often. Their website does look very old and tired.

IMHO-I think the future trend is that as more people get on social Network sites and start their OWN forums (which are generally FREE) and as more Chinese users go online thru translator urls-it will be more like 'real dating' like the 'old days'. You chat on a forum. You meet regular friends. Then one day, you say- HEY let's meet.

It happens already-just not as much if you are looking a ppl who don't know English that well. Just wait for the websites to become more multilingual and I think the time will be here before you know it.
