Well first of thank you everyone for the support! :). I am currently in China now with Xiaofang (Linda, though she does not like her English name, so I use her Chinese name). I arrived on Sunday the 4th January, after a very long flight, feeling rather scared. I made sure before I left to have Xiaofang's and her translator from the agency mobile numbers. So when I landed in Beijing on my way to Shenyang I was able to call them both to confirm my time of arrive in Shenyang, which made me feel better. They were both there when I arrived, they actually had to wait for me as my flight was delayed by 45min. I was greeted with a hug and flowers, which made me feel bad as with my luggage I could not carry them, so she took my heavy bag and refused to let me carry it so I could have the flowers! My Chinese is okay, but far from fluent, as I have only studied it as part of my degree for a year, so having the translator there really helped, though, during the long taxi ride to the hotel Xiaofang was very shy and quite, she just held my hand and laughed at my translated jokes, which I entirely failed to say in Chinese myself. I also found that Xiaofang had to pay a fee of 3000 yuan just to meet me at the airport. Xiaofang and the translator then helped me move into the hotel and unpack before we went for a meal together. I proved to be the entertainment in the meal with my attempts to use chopsticks... but Xiaofang finally opened up and we started to talk. Then before I went to bed, Xiaofang came up to my room with me, and kissed me good night, leaving me a present, which was a woven wallet she had made, with her picture in it and the words "forever love" written in Chinese and English, so a good end to the first day! :)
