Planning a holiday to China, I ventured out to Shenyang (Liaoning) in April this year - expecting to meet a lady (Fenglan) who I had been communicating with through Date In Asia for some time ? both website messages and email, on a daily basis. Fenglan (resident in Fushun) apparently spoke reasonably good English.
But? on arrival, there was someone else (Xing). She didn?t seem to look like Fenglan but I gave her the benefit of any doubt as perhaps she sent me old pictures. For 3 days and nights she insisted she was Fenglan. When we went to her ?English teacher? at her ?English school? (which turned out to be a marriage agency) I asked him questions and eventually he was forced to admit that this girl (Xing) is not Fenglan.
The facts: Fenglan was a fake profile, operated by this marriage agency. The communication was in fact between me and a translator (including the emails). The agency charged Xing rmb 10,000) for meeting a foreigner she never had any communication with before, telling her this would get her a visa for Australia. She told me she had registered with the agency just two days earlier.
As a tour guide her usefulness was somewhat limited, all communication had to be done using an electronic translator, but she stayed with me 24/7 for the rest of my visit.
I have identified that agency as ?Fushun MeiYiDa Translation & Consulting Company? (P696 - member of the Chnlove group) in Fushun (also operating in Shenyang). I have irrefutable proof (sorry I am unable to show images here) , and their conduct has also been confirmed to me by a local Fushun businesswoman who knows the owner personally.
This agency also operates other fake profiles on Date In Asia (Fenglan is there as ?zhangsunshine? ? I have identified at least 4). They scam both the girls as well as the guys. I did report on that profile to Date In Asia, but no action was taken.
