Agree with the poster below I had exaclty the same problem
Agree with the poster below I had exaclty the same problem. I signed up for a 3 day trial for about £2.00 decided the very same day that I wasn't going to get much use out of the site as there were very few matches in my local area. So I cancelled the billing... or so I thought!
3 Days later I have been charged a further £24.99 which took my credit card over its limit which will also now cost me a further £12.00.
I always thought that any website or service that uses repeat billing had to make it easy to cancel. Cupid make it extrememely difficult and probably for this very reason. You click a button to say you wish to cancel, which should be enough really. But no, you then have to answer a series of questions as to why you want to cancel, again select that you want to cancel your billing, enter an on screen confirmation code and click confirm. Well that's what I did and I thought that was it all done. NO! What I didn't realise is at the bottom of the next screen where you think you have cancelled it says that you need a cancellation code to complete the process, the code is valid for only 2 days and will be emailed to you. Well I didn't get that email at all first time around, and having completed the process again an hour ago I still haven't received it.
So if I don't get it tonight, I am away for the next 3 days and won't have access to my emails, so will have to repeat it again. They obviously hope that either people will think they have cancelled but havent and end up getting charged again, or peope will leave it until the last day and then not be able to get it sorted in time and hence get to charge another month. I have sent them a complaint about the process and asked them for the £24.99 to be refunded, particularly as I didn't even receive the original cancellation confirmation code email. I already know what their response is going to be, they wont care!

If I were you I would avoid them.
