My advice on these sites: HotRussianBrides, RussianLoveMatch, Anastasia-International, Dream-Marriage and basically any site that has pictures of attractive women on it is engaging in deceptive business practices.
Here's how the business model works:
You pay the site for credits (some people pay thousands over time). Simultaneously, the web site, through its relationships with a network of Russian and Ukranian "marriage agencies", sends money to the agencies relative to the amount of time their girls chat with paying members. The agencies then pay the girls based on how many credits they siffen off of members. This is generally the equivalent of several hundred dollars a month, but can get into the thousands depending on how much time the girl spends online.
A random login to HotRussianBrides and you will note that you will generally see the same girls online or on video chat around the same time of day, every day. This is because they are assigned shifts by the agencies. Some agencies allow the girls the flexibility to set their own hours (this various from agency to agency).
Chances are that if the girl you are chatting with is online around the same time every day, then she is chatting with you as well as others in order to maximize her time to profit ratio.
Gifts: Some websites like HotRussianBrides etc, allow members to purchase gifts online for their Ukranian girl of choice and then send you a picture to prove that your gift reached its destination. In these cases, the girls also receive a cut of the amount of the gift. That's why some girls are quite keen on asking for stuff despite your never having met them face to face.
Finally, last week i was with my girlfriend and she received a call from a female voice from a local agency. This ended up being a three way call between the two ladies and an American guy who wanted to meet my girl after having seen her pics on Anastasia. Despite speaking fluent English, my girlfriend spoke to the lady in Russian, who then translated to the guy, and he responded in English, at which point the lady from the agency farcically translated it back to my girlfriend. The conversation lasted a few minutes and i could tell the guy was very excited to speak to her. I believe Anastasia charge upwards of $50 for a call like that, which in this case only lasted three minutes. After the call ended, we both noted the utter farce of what just happened.
So to all you guys who are pumping cash into the pockets of Mr. Pearson and his website owning colleagues, it is ultimately your choice, but i thought your decision making might be best served by being fully informed of the facts.
